The Labor of Love Quilt Project was developed in 2017 to provide charitable events for active and retired New York City Police Officers that worked rescue and recovery on and after the September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attacks, and to sew charity quilts for families of the deceased New York City Police Department officers that died as a result of incurring 9/11 related illnesses. It has now expanded to Quilts4Cops: A Labor of Love Project. We want to thank N.YP.D. Sgt. Michael Lukowski who suggested the name Quilts for Cops and encouraged us to make quilts for all officers and not solely Post 911 families.
